Cricket's Most Iconic moments

Now i have been thinking to write something about cricket for a long time. But i really don't want to write about the current ongoing series in England. That's still heart breaking to write, as my Indian team got their ass whipped. So let's just go back to the past and cherish those memories.

This was actually sent to me as an e-mail by a friend of mine. I know many of you don't know about this so just read it and enjoy. There are 21 such iconic moments sorted randomly. Some are most cherishable and some are most disgraceful.

1. Pakistan's Javed Miandad clashed with Australia's Dennis Lillee in one of the most disgraceful incidents on a cricket field. Lillee and Javed collided as the batsman completed a run during the November 1981 Perth Test. Lillee proceeded to kick Javed on the leg to which Javed reacted angrily, threatening to hit the bowler with his bat. Umpire Tony Crafter stepped between the two as Lillee prepared to have another go at Javed. The blame for the incident was laid on Lillee by many experts. Former Australian captains like Bob Simpson and Ian Chappell condemned Lillee's behaviour.

2. In Birmingham, August 7 2005, at the end of one of the greatest Test matches ever, England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff broke away from the team celebrations to console the dejected Australian batsman Brett Lee. Lee and Michael Kasprowicz had brought Australia within three runs of an unlikely win before Kasprowicz got out. England went on to win the Ashes for the first time in 19 years, but this moment stood out and Flintoff was applauded for his thoughtfulness. Despite intense rivalry between the two teams, Flintoff and Lee remain mates.

Vedic Rituals and Routines!!! Why do wear marks (tilak, and the like) on the forehead?

img from google

The tilak invokes a feeling of sanctity in the wearer and the others. It is recognized as a religious mark. Its form and colour vary according to one's caste, religious sect or the form of te Lord worshipped.

In earlier times, the four castes (based on varna or colour) - Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra - applied marks differently. The brahmin applied a white chandan mark signifying purity, as his profession was of a priestly or academic nature. The kshatriya applied a red kumkum mark signifying valour as he belonged to warrior races. The vaishya wore a yellow kesar or turmeric mark signifying prosperity as he was a businessman or trader devoted to creation of wealth. The sudra applied a black bhasma or kasturi mark signifying service as he supported the work of other three divisions.

Vedic Rituals and Routines!!! Why do we prostrate before parents and elders?

Indians prostrate before their parents, elders, teachers and noble souls, by touching their feet. The elders in turn bless us by placing their hand on or over our heads. Prostration is done daily, when we meet elders and particularly on important occasions like the beginning of a new task, birthdays, festivals, etc. In certain traditional circles, prostration is accompanied by 'abhivaadana', which serves to introduce oneself, announce one's family and lineage.

Vedic Rituals and Routines !!! Why do we do Namaste (Salutation)?

Indians greet each other with namaste. The two palms are placed together in front of the chest and the head bows whilst saying the word namaste. This greeting is for all ----- people younger than us, of our own age, those older, even strangers.

There are five forms of formal traditional greetings in the Sastras, of which 'namaskar' is one. This is understood as prostration, but it actually refers to paying homage as we do today when we greet each other with a namaste.

I never knew that !!! Did you ???

Q: Why do men's clothes have buttons on the right while women's clothes have buttons on the left?
A: When buttons were invented, they were very expensive and worn primarily by the rich. Since most people are right-handed, it is easier to push buttons on the right through holes on the left. Because wealthy women were dressed by maids, dressmakers put the buttons on the maid's right!  And that's where women's buttons have remained since.

Q: Why do ships and aircraft use 'mayday' as their call for help?
A: This comes from the French word m'aidez -meaning 'help me' -- and is pronounced, approximately, 'mayday.'

Naruto 553 : On the Battlefield !!!

Well, in the last chapter, at the ending we saw a hand in the corner of the last page with a ninjutsu. Now everybody was sure, it was Naruto. Itachi and Nagato were also super cool in the previous chapters. But whatever, Itachi always rocks and so does Naruto too.

In the end Naruto gets off to the battlefield in all directions through his shadow clone jutsu in the kyubi mode. When Gaara and the Tsuchikage were fighting, Naruto joins the battle.

You can read my previous review here.

Bleach 462 : Why Me Sad

Why Me Sad ? That's the name of the chapter this week. And it is as always a good chapter. Last week the chapter was really interesting and good, as Ichigo got his powers back and not only that. Everybody accepted to  give him some of their reiatsu. And then at the end there was a shock for all of us, Hitsugaya says that Ginjou was the first ever Substitute Shinigami to appear in the Soul Society

You can view my review for the previous chapter here.

So this chapter starts with Ichigo being shocked at the news of Ginjou being the first ever Substitute Shinigami.

He is a favourite of mine and a lot others too. It has been two years since Michael Jackson passed away but his glory has not at all faded from our hearts and minds.

Hailed all over the world as the 'King of Pop' Michael Jackson's fairytale life was always under the public scanner. Everything he did made it to the headlines while he lived, and he kept on making news even after his death. This can definitely be attributed to the impact he had and curiosity he generated on people.

Now let's take a look at some interesting facts about Michael Jackson.

When i heard about this, my blood was boiling like hell. How in the world can anyone be more terrible and corrupted and, what not adjectives are coming in my mind, than the Indian Government and its Ministers.

Well, you see this for yourselves and decide, whether to fight or not the government.

Now, Indian government approves 200% MP's salary hike. And even after this still some MP's are unhappy and want more.

At present, MP's take home salary is Rs.45 lakh per anum + other allowances too.

Bleach 461 : Come Around Your Turn

Bleach 461 : img from mangareader.net
Cool, that's all i can say. Last week we saw Ichigo getting his shinigami powers back. Rukia was the one who stabbed him with a special sword and then he gets his powers back with a bang and poof and all just like that. Now, this is what is special about the Japanese manga. They make you wait for one whole week to know the next turn in the story. I was thinking about Bleach all week. Moreover, he gets his powers back by others giving him a part of their reiatsu. And then, after attaining a new power, he slashes Getsuga Tenshou at Ginjou, who is a villain now. You can see my previous post about the previous chapter here.

Naruto 552 : The Prerequisite To Be Hokage...!!

Naruto 552 : img from mangareader.net

Wow, now this is what i am talking about. Itachi was and is the second strongest in the Akatsuki. I think, due to the increase in fans for Itachi, Kishimoto senpai just keeps on making him stronger and stronger for the people to like him more. And yes, it does work too. I am already an ardent and devoted fan of Itachi sama. And as the days passes and as the new chapter keeps releasing i'm growing more and more crazy about him.

Now in last week's chapter, Itachi was shown as a stronger shinobi than Nagato, even after Nagato acquired all the Pain's powers and was at his full strength. Due to Itachi's genius and calm mind, Naruto and Bee were able to face Nagato and Itachi could seal him. View my previous review here.

And the Next Billion Dollar Movie is _____________ ???

Prior to Avatar's release in December 2009, only four movies had ever made over $1 billion worldwide. Since then, that number has grown to ten, with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 all reaching the huge milestone in the past three months alone. Each of Summer 2011's billionaires are sequels that showed massive gains on their predecessors in foreign markets, thanks in part to current exchange rates and 3D premiums.

Among the upcoming releases, there are plenty of 3D movies that are ready to at most dream of reaching the $1 billion, though none have the potential that Summer 2011's winners had. In fact, the safe bet is that the next $1 billion movie isn't even in 3D (hint: it involves a brooding superhero). Here's a look at the upcoming movies that have the best chance of joining the $1 billion club, along with some movies that aren't likely to make the cut:

Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare..

Sri Krishna
Today is a day when a MAN was born to deliver people from pain and injustice. This man was an incarnation of God and he is the face of the religion called Hinduism. He is the source of the Holy Book called Mahabharata. He is Lord Krishna,an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, a GOD.

Many people still argue about his existence and many continue to question his presence in the so called History of the World. But i believe he did and there are many like me who do believe that. Now, in the past few years many scientists and archaeologists have researched and discovered the place called Dwarka, which is submerged under the sea near the coastal lines of Gujarat in India. It is proven that there was a city just like it is described in the scriptures and there was a man (god) called Krishna who precedes Jesus Christ.

Dhyana Linga

Dhyana Linga
The sacred land of India has been witness to the lives of countless yogis, sages and enlightened beings. The Dhyana Linga Yogic Temple, situated at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, India, is very much part of this glorious tradition.

The Dhyana Linga was consecrated by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a mystic and realized Master, after three years of intense prana prathistha, using his own energies. The people involved in the consecration process underwent intense sadhana, overcoming the limitations of the body and the mind to energize the Dhyana Linga. Dhyana in Sanskrit means 'meditation',, and Linga means 'the form'.

As Sadhguru describes it, the linga-form allows energy to be brought to the highest intensity, at which it

Bleach 460 : Deathberry Returns 2

Bleach 460 : img from mangareader.net
This chapter answered many of my questions but then gave such a huge shock at the end that i was not able to sleep the whole night thinking about it. Now, the shock is not a bad one but the other way around. In the previous chapter, Ichigo gets back his shinigami powers at the end. Rukia was the one who stabs him in his chest with a special sword to return his powers to him. And he was all like a new shinigami with new costume and new blade. You can check out about that here.

Ichigo gets his powers back and Ginjou and Tsukishima are struck with shock and horror to see Ichigo. Rukia tells Ichigo that Urahara Kisuke has already told her all about Tsukishima's powers. And he must not be scared of it. Even if Tsukishima's power changes Ichigo's past he can make his own future and bonds. At that time, Ichigo tries to be all cool and heroic and calm minded and gives a dialogue, which is interrupted by Rukia again. That's a little comical side of it. She tries to slash him with that new sword with which she stabbed him. On asking, she explains to Ichigo that, Urahara prepared this sword especially for Ichigo so that he can be stabbed by it and gain his shinigami powers back.

Ginjou cuts off the explanation and tells them that it's impossible for Ichigo to get his shinigami powers back. The last time he got them from Rukia was because he had those powers already inside him. But now he has taken everything from Ichigo into his Fullbring. And asks Rukia, how one person's reiatsu alone can bring back Ichigo's shinigami powers back?

Naruto 551 : Stop Nagato!

Naruto 551 : img from mangareader.net
Man, I have been waiting for past two weeks to get my eyes on this new chapter. Normally the gap between the release of new chapters is just a week but looks like Masashi Kishimoto senpai likes to make his fans wait. But that's good because the interest and excitement automatically grows with time. Now i thought the previous chapter was the best so far but Kishimoto senpai never ceases to amaze me. This chapter is more interesting than the previous one. We got to even see a new power of my idol and fav. hero Itachi Uchiha sama. Now, you can view the review of the previous chapter i.e. Naruto 550 here.

The chapter starts with a nice answer to my question. In the last chapter, at the end, Nagato becomes complete by absorbing Killer Bee's chakra and Naruto's chakra. And he was shown pulling out chakra from Naruto's belly. I knew that it was just an ordinary way of sucking chakra but then my friend, another anime and manga freak, put me in terrible confusion. He was 100% sure that Nagato has released the seal of the nine tails fox. Now i was totally in shock that if it had happened who would control the Kyubi again. But thank god, NO, thank Kishimoto senpai it didn't happen. This chapter clears my doubt. Nagato was just sucking Naruto's chakra and not releasing the seal.

Do you know India and Indians???

Mother India
The name India is derived from the river Indus. There might be many arguments and speculations regarding the oldest religion and the oldest country and what not. But let's see who was the first among others at last. Now i am sure many of you didn't know about these facts but now get to know it.

15th August !!! Is India really Independent???

15th August 1947. Yes, that was the day when a nation was finally freed from the clutches of those cruel Britishers of that time. I don't want any hard feelings to be there between me and my British friends. It's not your fault and i am not accusing you or anything. It's just that your ancestors and old generation people enslaved and tortured my old generation people. Then, after years of struggling and fighting, THEY earned freedom for us. And now my new generation people are torturing and enslaving us (future generation people) just like it happened before 1947. So, i don't blame the Britishers but ourselves for the condition we are in.

I wanted to write about the most important day in our Indian history and the way we Indians celebrate it. But i think it's really unfair to write and lie about what's not actually there. And that too especially, FREEDOM. We are the largest democratic country but not the largest independent country. I wouldn't call this country as a free country or i must say, it's nowhere near the so called word "freedom". But let's see...

Can you build like this??? I doubt it.

Well, i received a mail from my friend and i wanted to share it with you. Do you really think that any human can build like this with just their mouth? It's one of nature's wonders you will hardly ever get to see.

Exercise Your Eyes

We all know how important it is to keep our bodies fit by doing things like going to the gym, jogging, and swimming. But, did you know that you can exercise your eyes as well?

Eye exercising will keep your eyes healthy and help minimize eyestrain. Here are some easy to follow steps and tips to exercise your eyes and keep them healthy!

The Power of Words

There's an old saying, "Actions are stronger than words" or "Actions speak more than words". But sometimes Words have more power than Actions. Well, some people don't believe it but there's immense truth in the power of a word, touch, hug, love, positive thought, music, environment, correct breathing, yoga, meditation, correct posture, daily exercise, good deed or prayer, etc.

Many people have tried to prove it but still it's in human nature not to believe it. Now here, there's a guy with a perfect and full proof of the Power of Words. And he did this by testing with water. Now, people will ask, "can words affect water?" "that's impossible, that's not true." "are you kidding me? do i look crazy to u?"

Well, the answer is YES!!! WORDS CAN AFFECT WATER. This guy is a Japanese scientist, Dr. Masaru Emoto, who believes in water being affected by our words. And here's his proof.

Dr. Masaru Emoto

Dr. Emoto tookk some water droplets and exposed them to various words, music and environments and then froze them for three hours. He then examined the crystal formations of the water droplets under a dark field microscope. And he took few photographs of it. The results were totally mind blowing. Here are those photos.

True Successor of Bruce Lee

Tony Jaa
Now, he's my most favourite martial artist after Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. And he deserves to be so. With all his incredible and immeasurable Muay Thai moves he is one of the leading entertainers in the cine industry. I became a total fan of him, from the time i saw his first movie, ONG BAK 1 or ENTER THE NEW DRAGON.

I always wanted to learn moves that he does but it was always a failure. Bur then i wanted to do something special and then i got the idea of putting him onto my memory permanently, like this (above pic).

I still find some mistakes in my own art and i'm not satisfied with the above one too. Hope you guys like it. My other art is here.

Naruto Uzumaki as a kid

Naruto Uzumaki
This is most favorite anime and manga as well. But he's not my most favorite character. It's none other than the best and the most charismatic and strongest "Itachi Uchiha". I'm planning to draw him too, but i'm little busy right now. When i draw him, i want that to be the best drawing of him. This picture actually had Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi as well but the page was not enough to draw all of them.

Next time, if ever i feel like drawing them again, i would draw the whole Team 7.

Hope you guys like it. Leave comments and help me to improve this blog. Be happy and make others happy. My other arts are here.

Well, I didn't note down the exact date but this was completed when i was in 10th grade I know there's a big mistake in this drawing of mine, but i am extremely sorry guys as i didn't have much space left.

Hope you guys like the rest. My other arts are here.

Daniel Radcliffe

Harry Potter

Now, i have been thinking a lot about, what would happen if i get selected in the Slytherin house? How to get in the Gryffindor house? I want to be the best and the strongest wizard of all time. I guess sometimes, dreams are just dreams. Whatever you do, how much ever you try, one cannot mix the real world with the fantasy one. But i can at least imagine that, to be true.

Well, i drew this in the month of July 2007, when i first saw the Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix photo on the cover of "The Week" magazine. I was shocked to see Daniel Radcliffe with short hair because i wanted to draw him but with long hair, as he had in the Goblet of Fire. But then i couldn't wait and drew what i had at that time.

Hope you guys like it. My other arts are here.

My Drawings....

It's been many years since i have been drawing but never have i felt to share it with anyone. I don't know the reason why, but maybe i didn't anything about blogging then. Now I'm going to show you guys the only talent that i have. I neither can't study and get good marks like others nor can i create programs and software like computer geeks. But i can draw even if i'm not as good as others there in the world. Hope you guys like it.

Jai Sri Hanuman
This is one of my mom's most favorite one. So i thought of posting it first. And i'm an ardent devotee of Lord Hanuman too. Actually i wanted to draw more garlands and ornaments as it was in the picture but then i was growing tired and impatient, as i wanted to finish it fast. Then i just drew the six packs and left it bare. I know it looks awkward but i couldn't help it.

You can find my other drawings here : My Art

Indians "Loot" Indians

Indian money holders : img from wikileaks
What do we Indians have to say about this? All these years we have been fooled that India was a rich country once upon a time, and the Britishers, Persians, French and Portuguese looted us of our wealth. They stole it from us, so, we became an underdeveloped and poor nation. And after 64 years of Independence, we are now becoming a greater power and being acknowledged as a developing super power nation.

But IS THIS TRUE? Are we really developing? Were we poor during these 64 years? Were the foreigners the only one who looted us? Voting is a right of every citizen but are we voting for our curse or our boon? Are we living peacefully and happily? If yes, then is this the true happiness?

"India" in "Ramayana"

Ramayana by Virgin Comics
Well, who would have thought that the epic Ramayana, which is Hindu's sacred book just like Mahabharata, would show us, the India which was there around Treta Yuga, more than 1,700,000 years ago. I was not able to believe my eyes when i saw this picture but then this was drawn as accurately as possible as  it was described in the Ramayana. Some of the references were taken from the Buddhist texts too.

Bleach 459 : Death and Strawberry 2

Bleach 459 : img from mangareader.net

The true enemy??? I always knew that Ginjou was the real villain. Now, i don't know why but i knew it. Maybe that's because it's the same as it was Aizen as he was first shown as the good guy then he was the true villain. Same goes with Ginjou. He was partnering with Tsukishima all along the way while teaching Kurosaki Ichigo to get his Fullbring.

Naruto 550 : Koto Amatsukami

Chapter 550 : img from mangareader,net
So, here comes the showtime. In this new chapter of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto senpai has done one of the best things he could ever do. The real truth of Itachi Uchiha has been revealed. My idol, my favourite anime character of all time, my most wanna be guy and what not !!! The secret behind Itachi was revealed by Madara Uchiha but i still had a doubt that he might be hiding something from Sasuke Uchiha, Itachi's younger brother, so that he could take revenge on the Leaf village. But now, everything is clear, Itachi was the real hero and in this chapter, he's shown as the best ever a hero could get.

Sachin - Bharat Ratna ???

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar

Well this has been a controversy for a few months now. After India won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 (50 over), most of the Indians as well as the ministers have been pressurizing the government to give Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.

Amarnath "Shiva Lingam"

Lord Shiva & Mata Parvati

Om Namah Shivay. I'm a devotee of Lord Shiva and will be forever but i haven't had a chance to visit one of the most holy places on earth called Amarnath. It's located in Jammu & Kashmir, India. Situated on Mount Amarnath, in the Himalayan Range there is a shrine dedicated to the god Shiva, which is said to be 5,000 years old.

Mother Chimp feeds Her Tiger Cub

Well, people always say that mother's love is incomparable and second to none. When people say that there are loads of differences between a human and an animal, they forget that both have hearts filled with all the emotions. And especially LOVE.

Look here, a two-year-old chimpanzee named "Do Do" feeds milk to "Aorn", a 60-day-old tiger cub, at Samat Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo in Samut Prakan province on the outskirts of Bangkok. The crocodile farm, used as a tourist attraction, houses some 80,000 crocodiles and is the largest in Thailand.

Looking at them just reminds me of the connection between humans and animals. Just like a human feeds a kitten, this chimpanzee is feeding a tiger cub. I hope you understand what and how i mean to connect all these together. It's very rare to see these kind of strange bonds existing at this kind of time in this world.

'Potter' Beats 'Transformers' to $1 Billion

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Transformer: Dark of the Moon's two-week head start couldn't hold off Harry Potter's record-breaking pace: Deathly Hallows Part 2 passed $1 billion worldwide on Sunday, while Transformers still has a few days left before it reaches that milestone.

Spirit of the Game lives on

Dravid & Bell

The third day of the 2nd test match played between India vs England at Nottingham was a total surprise as England went on to put a very good score on the board as well as give a miles lead to India. Then there was this huge turnover in the game just before the tea session.

Harry Potter Ends the Journey

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2

For 10 years i have been dreaming of becoming a wizard and study in Hogwarts but looks like some dreams are always just dreams. But J K Rowling's dream definitely did come true. She never ever thought that her imagination and fantasy thoughts during a train journey would become a world phenomenon and goes into breaking all the records, be it the books or the movies. I remember the day when i saw the trailer of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2, i knew it then that this movie is going to set all records. July 15, 11.50 am, PVR cinemas, Chennai, my dream came true.

Steam Inhalation

My god....today was a very a bad morning for me. I woke up with a severe headache. It was like there was a small sphere of water right in the middle of my eyebrows bursting to come out. The pain was excruciating and i could hardly see. It was a severe cold and nose block. Then an idea struck me, why don't i use the old age home remedy that is used for generations in my country ? Yes that's it - Steam Inhalation.

Now a days it's used everywhere in the world but it is really very effective. I did steam inhalation with a eucalyptus tablet. Now i feel a lot better. There are many oils available for steaming. Each oil has special purpose for a particular problem Here are some tips:

Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple

Sree Padmanabhaswamy
Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple has become the talk of the country as it has surprised or rather i would say "shocked" many citizens of India. Located inside East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram - the capital city of  Kerala, India this Mahavishnu Temple has been assumed and estimated to be the richest temple in India as well as in the world. In late June 2011 India's Supreme Court ordered the inspection of the vaults of the temple after a lawyer petitioned a local court asking the state government to take over the temple, citing improper and inadequate security. The current Maharaja of Travancore had appealed to the Supreme Court against the petition.
Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple
Till now a vast amount of gold coins, jewels, gold statues of gods and precious stones were unearthed and it was expected to grow further in value as the last 6th chamber will be opened later after the approval from the Supreme Court. There were totally 6 chambers, as the 5 chambers have been opened and the treasures are accounted the estimated value goes to Rs.100,000 crore (US$22.3 billion). The riches come from the donations that were made by the Royal family, devotees and the traders from all across the country as the offerings to the diety. All this treasures were sealed in the vaults for over 150 years.
Even as the treasures are being calculated its just the wild guess and the estimated amount that reaches Rs.100,000 crore. Some say that the actual value of all these treasures might even cross Rs.4-5 lakh crore.
All these treasures should not be called as treasures actually. These are the offerings made by people to the god, So it is His wealth not some old treasure.
What will happen when the final chamber is opened??? There is a rumour that there is a huge snake protecting the vault and watching over the god's wealth. Nobody has any idea of what will be the total value or amount of all these god's wealth when the final chamber is opened.
There are many temples in India like this which are famous or not famous but have millions of god's wealth as offerings by the people. India still is the richest country, with half the money in the country and half in the swiss bank. I hope that the same sri vishnu helps in developing this country.
